Social Easing

The 8th Annual HarvestSHARE: 2020 Social Easing 6 Parks in 1 Day HEAL Celebration “was so organized, so much fun, and the 1st time we felt safe during Covid-19.” (Malik and Olga Robinson)

For the first time in history, Denver Parks and Recreation permitted a community organization to host a festival in 6 parks in 1 day. Residents came together with community based organizations and support from anchor institutions including Denver Parks and Recreation, Denver Human Services, and Saint Joseph Foundation to create an event to social ease our Eastside community back together in September 2020 after a summer of COVID-19 confusion.

In 1 month, the community came together to organize and connect community partners to host outdoor wellness events in 6 parks, and distribute over 177 grocery/produce boxes, 392 Food Truck orders and 500lbs of local organic produce to families and residents during a time of food insecurity in Denver Parks.

Now, it is time for the 9th Annual HarvestSHARE: Social Easing 6 Parks in 1 Day and 1 Farm Walking Festival on September 18, 2021.
